<Editorial note>

Dear subscribers,

Last week, we had an immense quantity of snow after a long interval. When I woke up in the morning, I found that there was snow outside as far as the eye could see. Just a few days before this snow hit, we had experienced the relatively warm weather, so we had thought that spring was very near. However, such an expectation were disappointed.
We were turned back to the winter cold.

Since we had 4 inches of snow even in central Fukui city, we had to shovel the snow off our parking structures. It was the first time in this winter season for JSB to shovel snow as a company function.

I guess that some of you had already stripped snow tires off because we had almost no snow in January and February. Through this surprising experience of the out-of-season snow, I became keenly aware that the winter of Fukui should never be underestimated.

[1] The rebirth of an office building in downtwon Fukui:
JSB's "System Ohte Building" debut
-----------------------------------------------------

We recently purchased an office building in front of JR Fukui station. The building was formerly called "The Meiji Yasuda Sei-mei Building," but is now renamed "System Ohte Building." In Fukui city, this building would be best accessible via public transportation. JR Fukui station, the bus terminal, Fukutake railway stations, all are in the very close vicinity of the building. Furthermore, you will find the Fukui central post office, major banks, securities companies, and other major corporations just around the corner from there. @
We are now leasing some of floors of this incredibly convenient building.
There are not so many floors left available. Consider that the building is located in such a high status area. Your employees would work there with their heads held high.

If you are interested, please let us know. We will be happy to give you a tour of the facilities of the building.

We appreciate your consideration.

[2] JSB sighed a contract with SMRJ (the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, JAPAN)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
In February, JSB contracted SMRJ (the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, JAPAN) Hokuriku branch to invite IT-specialists to assist JSB's introduction of IT to its accounting. JSB aims at turning the updated information of their accounting into a rational and effective management strategy.

Among the contract options SMRJ offers, JSB chose the one called "the request of the dispatch of IT-specialists for administrative innovation.

SMRJ has already completed the preliminary survey of the actual state of JSB's accounting. They selected IT-specialists suitable for us and presented their carefully thought-out plan. On February 13, they actually sent the specialists.

Now, the select members from JSB regularly hold working-level discussions with the specialist every Tuesday afternoon. They have had five discussion sessions. They will work together in the next six month. They are working hard to get best results.

[3] The "S" day - Cleanliness first!
----------------------------------
We established the 15 of the month as the "S" day, the day for "Seiri [sorting out in Japanese]," "Seiton [arranging neatly]," and "Seisou [cleaning up]."

On the "S"day, all the corporation members come to the office 30 minutes before the regular business hours. They clean not only their office, but also their neighbors.

I found many scrapings and scourings at unexpected places of the street, for example, behind boulevard trees or vending machines. I was also surprised to find a trash can next to the vending machine. If the unknown person who littered would have walked for just a few more steps, he or she would not have littered. Why couldn't the person do such an easy thing? @

By virtue of the establishment of the "S" day, we are given the opportunity to think about how important it is to keep our city clean by ourselves.
