The Japanese economy has continued to suffer a deflationary spiral with a continued increase in the unemployment rate and a continued drop in the stock and land prices, which combined with last year's September terrorist attacks on the U.S. to cause many Japanese enterprises to have their business performances deteriorated to an extreme extent. Under these circumstances, people in general have been anxious about their future income and employment situations as well reflected in a decline in the consumer sentiment data released by the government, suggesting that we have to wait for some time before the economy is on the road to recovery.

Against the above economical backdrop, our corporation has continued to work and perform actively in business, while incorporating ecological awareness and practice into our company's business philosophy on January 1, 2002 to promote ecological movement in the community. As part of our efforts, we have planned to organize an "Ecology Festival" on July 7 this year, inviting enthusiasts nationwide for such movement such as NPO, enterprises and foundations to participate in the festival to be held in Phoenix Plaza (Fukui City) under the theme of "Chikyu-ni Anata-no Ai-o" (Fill the Earth with Your Love!!). This festival is to be launched in evidence of our company's declaration of incorporating into our company's inaugural business object of "eliminating waste and excess, while promoting high efficiency and turnover to promote energy-saving, time-saving and labor-saving parking revolution on a nationwide basis", our new business initiative of "devoting itself to business friendly to the environment of the earth, while promoting movement for environmental protection nationwide". We have yet to enter the stage of developing environmentally-relative product in line with this business initiative, requiring a lot of time to actually put such products on the market with profit. However, we have judged we should start this now before it is too late. The festival will be held on Sunday, July 7 from 9:00am to 8:30pm at Phoenix Plaza located in the center of Fukui City, which was once devastated in the war flames and earthquakes, but has now seen its successful recovery from the devastation. Your kind support and cooperation to the festival by participating in it and inviting others to participate it would be appreciated.

The business performance of our corporation in the 3rd quarter of its 6th term is summarized in the following table:

As indicated in the above table, the corporation presented good business performance for the present quarter with sales increased 161% from the corresponding term in the previous year, but profits only modestly increased 132% from the corresponding term in the previous year because of the corporation's policy for positive recruitment of an increased number of mid-career capable people.

As we approach the end of the term, we may still see the Japanese economy continuing to be as sluggish as now with many problems still facing us such as dropped stock/land prices and increased unemployment, resulting in reduced consumer spending. Under these circumstances, we at our corporation have renewed our determination to work hard to maintain its rapid business growth rate, while improving our technological capabilities to improve the quality of our service with our first and foremost consideration focusing on our customers. In recent years, we have recognized the land market in urban areas starting to move actively behind the scene. Recognizing this movement as a good opportunity for our company which, for its business object, has promoted effective utilization of assets, we will continue to proceed with our business operations in a positive manner.
