Japan System Bank Corporation
For the 2nd quarter of its 8th term
(July 1-December 31, 2003)

Japanese economical situation is, in general, taking a turn for the better, reflecting the steady progress chiefly in auto, environmental, digital, and China-related industries. Although the local economies have not completely climbed out of the depression, the economic malaise is resolving. As a result of the governmental injection of tax payers money to major banks, financial institutions are recovering their reliability. Nikkei 225 Stock Average stock price has climbed over 10000 JPY.

Our business for this second quarter was considerably good. Our balance sheet shows an upward trend. As a result of our great effort to save operation costs for these six months, the operating profit grew over 110,000,000 JPY. We place high expectations on the remaining six months of the 8th term.

　〈Recent topics of our subsidiary companies〉

1. Japan Eco-ca Industry Corporation had been our wholly owned subsidiary. However, in order to 　　consolidate its management infrastructure, we made a private placement in December of 2003. We had many contributors including some influential dealers in new automobiles, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Daihatsu, Ford. We successfully increased the capital. Now, the capital stock (paid-in capital?) of Japan Eca-ca Industry Corp. is 31000 thousand JPY. We will make another private placement in February of 2004. Furthermore, we are planning to register for “Green seat Market” (“Emerging” division). Our registration will be the first among the companies in Hokuriku District. Simultaneously with the registration, we will make public offering.

2. System Bank Techno Corporation and System Bank Kyoto Corporation met both the sales and profit targets in the annual management plan.

3. E-Ad Corporation applied to a business competition in the effective use of Tokyo metropolitan land. The Tokyo metropolitan government adopted our project of “ideal parking structures in the 21st century.” We are now trying to realize the project on a Tokyo-owned land (0.16ac) in Koto-ku, Senda. We have already built a parking structure there.

As a start-up company, we are proud of our independence of outside control. Taking the advantage of our business network of industry-government-academia research groups, we have all the time to try out new opportunities.
